History Rotary Almancil

Almancil International Rotary Club (AIRC), chartered in June 2006 was the first International Rotary Club in Portugal to use English as a common language.  The first members comprised seven different nationalities of which some had been Rotarians in their home countries before moving to Portugal and some who had never before been members of Rotary.

Each though had a common aim.  Having only recently deciding to make Portugal their home, with the exception of a few Portuguese members, many were not at that time fluent Portuguese speakers.  However, they each wanted to do something for their adopted country.

To enable us to continue with all our projects we organise many events, none of which would be successful without the generous help of our sponsors
