Our club aims to engage with our community to improve the lives of people. We are always looking for new members that can help us to achieve this. At weekly meetings, our members catch up with friends, hear what’s happening in our community, and share plans and exchange ideas for creating lasting change.
Your club connection gives you the chance to develop skills like public speaking, project management, and event planning. You’ll meet interesting people from your community and around the world. And you’ll tackle local and international issues that are important to you and your fellow club members.
Almancil International Rotary Club (AIRC), chartered in June 2006 was the first International Rotary Club in Portugal to use English as a common language. The first members comprised seven different nationalities of which some had been Rotarians in their home countries before moving to Portugal and some who had never before been members of Rotary.
Each though had a common aim. Having only recently deciding to make Portugal their home, with the exception of a few Portuguese members, many were not at that time fluent Portuguese speakers. However, they each wanted to do something for their adopted country.
